RE-POINTING

Re-pointing a building is an essential part of maintenance. We only work with lime based products, and are experts in application of mortars and putties. It is important to take into consideration the temperature and we will only ‘point’ in the right conditions to ensure it doesn’t fail. 

 

We have experience working with many different styles of pointing including the example displayed. We had to use a mortar dye to capture the original colour they achieved with ‘clinker’ dust, and then carefully pointing a lime putty ribbon on top which was ‘keyed’ into the mortar to give it longevity.
