Cellar Doorway Rebuild
The Cellar doorway of this historic Hophouse in Herefordshire had almost completely collapsed. First we cleared the site and selected any stone which could be reused. Then we reclaimed stone from around the property selected for its durability, bed heights and squareness.
The cellar doorway was rebuilt using lime mortar and the void in the centre of the walls was carefully rebuilt and consolidated with lime mortar and soaked stones.
Then the bricks were re-instated and also pointed using lime mortar. The lime mortar for the stone work and the brick work were carefully colour matched.
